EIP and the Louisiana Bucket Brigade File EPA Petition to Improve Clean Air Act Enforcement in Louisiana

December 14, 2011

EIP and the Louisiana Bucket Brigade asked EPA to require Louisiana to step up monitoring and enforcement of air pollution standards, and to increase emission fees from the state’s largest polluters to cover funding shortfalls for the state’s environmental agency.  A report from EPA’s Inspector General released earlier this week criticized the state’s failure to enforce the Clean Air Act.
