BP Whiting refinery will invest $400 million to recycle and reuse waste gas and make other improvements in May 23 settlement with the USEPA and environmental groups. EIP played an active role in negotiating the settlement, which will cut emissions of smog forming chemicals (VOCs) by more than 3,000 tons, sulfur and nitrogen oxide emissions by 600 tons, and greenhouse gases by over 100,000 tons.
