Nothing to Celebrate: One Billion Pounds of Arsenic and Other Toxic Metals Dumped in Ponds and Landfills Since TVA Spill Four Years Ago. Still No EPA Action

On the fourth anniversary of the TVA Kingston spill, TVA ash disposal standards are stuck in neutral.  Meanwhile, power plants disposed of more than one billion pounds of arsenic and other toxic metals concentrated in more than 200 million tons of ash dumped in ponds and landfills between 2009 and 2011, based on industry data and its reports to the Toxics Release Inventory.
